Scott Shelar is Executive Director of CEFGA – the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia.  CEFGA is the largest NCCER Accredited Training Sponsor in Georgia, with more than 80 high school and technical college programs under its sponsorship.

Scott considers his work with CEFGA part of a personal mission.  “Like many young people growing up, I wanted to be a doctor, then a lawyer.  Then, I found out I did not like blood or tedious text books!  Fortunately, I discovered the world of construction and nonprofit management, and a career that I truly enjoy.  What I like about CEFGA is that we help students think about career options while they are still in high school. We hope they choose construction, but whatever they decide, at least they are thinking about it.”

Scott serves on the board of directors for the SkillsUSA Georgia Youth Development Foundation.  He is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and Rapport Leadership International.

Scott lives with his wife and two children in Decatur, Georgia.
