Alejandro Velez was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He graduated in 2009 from San Jacinto College - North Campus with an Associates of Arts degree in Sociology.

Working his way through high school and college, Velez was promoted to an Assistant Manager at Walmart and relocated to Baytown, Texas in 2009. Wanting to be able to move up in a career, Velez began to pursue his career in the industrial field in 2014. A student at Lee College, Velez is scheduled to graduate with an Associates of Applied Science degree, with a concentration in Instrumentation Technology, in December of 2015.

Since beginning his industrial career, Velez has had internships with Vallourec and Air Products, and has had a short-term contract with Ohmstede. He is currenly working at Dow Chemical as a Process Operator.

Velez says, “I always keep my ear to the ground searching for a permanent position where I can use my previous experiences and education to succeed wherever I may go.”
