As businesses across our region and the globe continue to respond to the COVID-19 crisis, the Partnership is launching the Greater Houston Business Recovery Center (GHBRC) to help Houston companies develop strategies and access assistance needed for their full recovery.
The GHBRC is a program connecting businesses to available recovery resources. As a first step in this program, the Partnership aims to inform its members and the broader Houston business community about federal programs and other opportunities designed to help companies weather and recover from the COVID-19 crisis. In recent days, several federal lending programs have been enacted to aid businesses and their employees who have been affected by the coronavirus. The most recent is the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which, among the provisions, allocates $350 billion to help small businesses keep workers employed amid the pandemic and associated economic downturn.
“We know many Houston companies are hurting and do not have the resources to sustain themselves for weeks without help,” said Bob Harvey, president and CEO of the Partnership. “The funds provided through the CARES Act are essential to ensure Houston businesses can meet payroll and cover other expenses during this difficult time. ”
As the COVID-19 situation evolves, the Partnership is committed to being a valuable, timely resource to the Houston business community.
