Vianei Lopez Braun
Vianei Lopez Braun is a Labor and Employment Attorney at Decker Jones, P.C. She was previously a partner at Buck Keenan LLP in Houston, where she primarily represented employers in employment and commercial law matters. Her clients range from large publicly traded companies to small family-owned businesses and individual professionals and executives. She also has extensive experience in representing governmental entities.
Vianei has been selected as a Texas Monthly “Super Lawyer” in Labor and Employment Law every year since 2003.
In addition to defending employers in litigation and arbitration matters, Vianei handles administrative matters involving the EEOC, TWC, DOL, OFCCP, NLRB and other federal and state agencies. She also reviews and updates employer policies and procedures, provides customized management and employee training programs, and provides advice and counsel on personnel matters and litigation avoidance.
Vianei is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is a member of the State Bar of Texas Labor and Employment Law Section. She served on the Council of the Labor and Employment Law Section from 1997 to 2002, and served on the State Bar Board of Directors from 2002 to 2005, receiving a Presidential Citation for Service in 2004.
Upon her graduation from Princeton University in 1988, Vianei was, at age 19, the youngest female graduate in Princeton history. She received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law at age 22.
Vianei serves on the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries of Houston and The Kinkaid School Alumni Association. She is a Fall 2010 graduate of the Business Leadership Forum of the Center for Houston’s Future. From 2000-2009, Vianei wrote a weekly wine column for the Abilene Reporter-News and San Angelo Standard-Times.
