Ron Sokol has served as President and CEO of Safety Council Texas City (SCTC) since 1990.  Mr. Sokol is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) who worked for Bechtel prior to joining SCTC, and has over 35 of experience in construction safety training, construction administration, and non-profit leadership.  He is experienced in safety program development for construction companies and safety training for contractors in petrochemical, industrial, commercial, and maritime sectors.

Mr. Sokol serves on the NIOSH NORA Construction Sector Council, NCCER Safety Resource Committee and is active with the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).  In 2015, ASSE named Mr. Sokol an ASSE Fellow recognizing his lifelong commitment to protecting people, property and the environment.  Mr. Sokol served on the ASSE Governmental Affairs Committee from 2007-2014 and as the ASSE Construction Practice Specialty Administrator from 2000-2004.  Mr. Sokol holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
