David Ballentine is Owner, Consultant and Trainer with Surging Forward.  Surging Forward provides code update courses and leadership training for contractors and tradesman.  Ballentine has owned and operated Surging Forward for nearly a decade.  He also produces The Surging Forward Podcast, a weekly podcast which provides leadership training for Tradesmen.

The mission of Surging Forward is “to provide a positive you in a negative world.”

Ballentine has over 30 years of experience in the construction field; 18 of those years have been in the Project Management or related fields.  He has been involved in the resolution of subcontractor conflicts.  He has also served on various safety committees giving him exposure to various phases of the construction industry.

Ballentine currently teaches the apprenticeship program with Associated Building and Contractors (ABC) and works as an inspector with a local engineering firm.

Ballentine resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia with his wife and 2 dogs.
