What do you mean you are on strike? [1]
Okay, here we go. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) [8] released the latest unemployment figures for July for our industry last week. The US unemployment rate stands at 9.5%. According to the latest economic analysis from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) [9] and the figures on the construction industry, the unemployment rate in the industry has dropped to 17.3% from 24.5% at its peak.
In looking at the details of the information on the BLS databases, I came across an interesting fact. There is a Strike Report issued in the figures and it states that right now there are 10,000 construction workers on strike [10]. ON STRIKE when 17.3 % of the construction workforce is out of work and the figures are dropping again.
Would someone tell me what is wrong with this picture?
