We made mention of this subject in an earlier blog post and we have seen several other discussions that talk about the pros and cons of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) as part of the LEAN movement.  The publication of one particularly relevant publication Integrated Project Delivery for Public and Private Owners [8] was sponsored by several organizations including Associated General Contractors (AGC), National Association of State Facilities Administrators (NASFA), Construction Owners Association of America (COAA), APPA: The Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers, and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). 

It gives a broad view of the advantages of the system and ways in which owners and contractors are building projects.  You can download a copy of the report from the Construction Owners Association of America [9] website.
