A Sustainable Workforce Starts With You

Community Family Centers Launches Construction Training Program

Are you a construction craft employer interested in getting involved and potentially hiring one or more of these career candidates? Or, can you recommend anyone to take advantage of this training?

Starting Monday, May 14, Community Family Centers in the historic East End of Houston will begin offering training for people to earn nationally recognized certifications in construction.

Our partners at Community Family Centers help people throughout that area in a number of ways, and this is a new frontier for them.

From the announcement:

“Earn & Learn with CFC while training for Three Nationally Recognized Credentials in the Construction Industry. Participants can train for OSHA 10, NCCER Core, NCCER Drywall Level 1 (Carpentry & Commercial Roofing) and have On-the-Job Training with area Construction Companies. Trainees can also prepare for the GED and learn about Post-Secondary pathways."

The training includes instruction to improve math and reading as they relate to construction. The program represents a unique collaboration of organizations aligned toward a common mission of selecting, preparing, educating and helping people to find a fulfilling livelihood in construction.
