At Construction Career Collaborative (C3), we believe every career in construction starts with opportunity. Our outreach efforts are designed to educate students, support job seekers, and connect employers with workforce solutions that enhance safety, skills, and sustainability across the industry.
From hands-on expos to targeted hiring events and workforce training, here’s how we’re building lasting impact in Houston and beyond.
Building Futures Construction Career Expo:
March 28 and 29, 2026
What began as #SHEbuildsHouston has expanded into the Building Futures Construction Career Expo, a two-day immersive event for students, educators, and the construction industry. This event features hands-on exhibits, skilled trades demonstrations, and networking opportunities designed to introduce high school students to real career pathways in commercial construction.
This year’s expo takes place on March 28 and 29, 2026, and we’re inviting students and partners to help brand the experience by submitting original logo designs for the event.
Workforce Connections Through Hiring Events
In partnership with Go2Work, we host Networking and Hiring Events that directly connect C3 Accredited Employers with trained, job-ready candidates. These gatherings feature resume support, on-the-spot interviews, and industry connections, helping fill open roles and uplift job seekers at no cost to them.
Community Career Fairs and School Engagement
Throughout the year, our outreach team represents C3 at local schools, career fairs, and community events. We bring resources, hands-on demos, and real industry professionals to each event to help students and job seekers see construction not just as a job, but as a lifelong, rewarding career.
Craft Training and Safety Resources
For employees of C3 Accredited Employers, we offer OSHA-10 and OSHA 30-hour training, as well as NCCER Mentoring for Craft Professionals, to support continued development and safety on the jobsite. We are also developing tool kits for craft workers new to the industry who demonstrate a financial need, helping them access the tools and gear they need to succeed.
Partner Organization Outreach: Goodwill and More
Our outreach extends through valued partnerships with workforce organizations, such as Goodwill Industries Houston, where C3 coordinates and delivers NCCER Core training to adults preparing to enter the construction workforce. These collaborations allow us to reach individuals where they are, helping bridge the gap between training and employment while supporting a pipeline of skilled talent for our industry partners.
Together, We Build the Future
C3 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and our mission is made possible through the generous support of volunteers, sponsors, and donors. Your donations of time, talent, and treasure directly contribute to creating safer jobsites, stronger companies, and a sustainable construction workforce.
