3 World Trade Center Construction Complete [VIDEO]

For the 17th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, EarthCam has released a time-lapse video documenting the construction of 3 World Trade Center (WTC) in New York over its 8-year construction from May 2010 through its completion in June 2018. Brian Cury, CEO and Founder of EarthCam, said “It's our mission to continue to document this for future generations, so people can see what it took to rebuild these important 16 acres.”

From the EarthCam website:

“The 80-story tower stands 1,079 feet tall, making it the second tallest building in the WTC complex and the fifth tallest building in New York City.  This new movie is part of an ongoing effort to document the progress made in rebuilding this significant site.  Viewers will watch as the new tower rises in lower Manhattan and witness the yearly Tribute in Light, a glowing memorial to the World Trade Center that is illuminated from dusk on September 11 until dawn on September 12.”

The architect for this project was Richard Rogers of Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.  The building contains 2.5 million rentable square feet of space, and exceeds all New York City building code life-safety requirements.

You can watch the 2-minute video below, in which you may also notice some of the other new World Trade sites being constructed.
