2020 One-Day Sale Has New Look, Same Excitement

Although 2020 is a year unlike any other in recent memory, the United Tool and Fastener (UTF) annual One-Day Sale will be one for the history books. The Houston sale will occur on Thursday, Oct.1 followed by San Antonio on Oct. 8 and College Station on Oct. 15.

With a Covid-19 pandemic still causing disruptions to everyday life, changes had to be made to the annual event.

To remain in compliance with all local necessary safety and hygiene protocols, UTF has made changes as well. Things will look a little different, but the great prices, products and service customers expect remain.

“This year, masks are mandatory for everyone while on-site except when eating,” United Tool and Fastener President and owner, Bobby Williams, said.

All vendors will be spaced farther apart to take into account necessary social distancing. Furthermore, there will be a limit to the number of people who can be inside the showroom at any one time, so past socializing at the coffee bar while watching television in groups will not occur. However, there will be plenty of space outside for people to take a look at the function’s special events, talk to vendor representatives, test out products, and partake of a nice lunch while talking with old and new friends.

“We’re really excited about this event. Things are different, but we’ve got a great lineup of entertainment and promotions for our valued customers and we look forward to seeing everyone,” Williams, said.

Some of the vendors who will be highlighted at the sale include DeWalt, PIP, Werner Ladders, Werner Fall Protection, Knaack, Metaltech and Southwire.

Those who attended last year were entertained by local chainsaw artist, Della Meredith, who will be on hand to make another special piece of artwork. Last year she worked her magic into a breath-taking piece of Astros art.

Meanwhile, car lovers will enjoy checking out the DeWalt race car on site while perusing vendor inventory and demonstrations.

“The food this year will be served by food trucks, with customers needing a special ticket to obtain lunch. The majority of the event will be outside with plenty of room to spread out,” Williams explained.

If you can’t make the event in person, orders can always be placed by phone and picked up at will call: in Houston at 713-692-2323; in San Antonio at 210-495-8665; or College Station at 979-731-8665.
