A Sustainable Workforce Starts With You

Value Engineering: Who Cares?

Hi there. The Chamberlin Man here.

Value engineering is the buzz in the construction biz. The game is to be smarter, faster, safer and offer a better product. Do more than one at the same time and you’re “winning,” as the kids these days say.

I’m not knocking it. Applying a little ingenuity to deliver a better solution, save money or be most efficient is fantastic. Value is what everyone is after. But, what is it that makes one company better than another at providing value? At Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing, I think we have a pretty darn good secret sauce. Let me give you a taste.

Good old-fashioned values drive our ability to deliver value on the dollar. When people care about their work and put their heart into the “daily do’s” of a profession, value is a natural byproduct.

These days, client focused, relationship driven values aren’t as common as they were back in my day, but they still exist. At Chamberlin we call our collective values “The Chamberlin Way.” Read all about it, if you’re so inclined, but I can tell you in the simplest terms, it boils down to this: we just care. We care about the work we do and the people for whom we work. Our care fuels our desire to make a difference and that is where value engineering solutions are born.

Sure, just about everyone’s selling faster, smarter, safer solutions. Who cares? Well, now you know who…

Until next time, I'll be seeing you around.
